The Management Committee

The running of Haltwhistle Swimming & Leisure Centre is overseen by a Management Committee made up of representatives of various local organizations and groups. We meet on a regular basis (usually monthly) to discuss matters arising from the running of the centre and are given management and financial reports by our manager. As a registered charity we also have to submit our annual accounts to The Charity Commission for approval. We receive annual operational funding support from both Tynedale District Council and Haltwhistle Town Council - it is a sad fact of life that centres such as ours rarely make an operating profit as we strive to strike a balance between providing a service affordable to as many of our residents as possible and operating a balanced budget - so we continue to be grateful of the support from both our local councils as well as the prudent budgeting of our manager and staff.
Our management meetings are also attended by Mrs L Turner (Chief Leisure & Tourism Officer, Tynedale Council) & Mr J Maude (Chief Executive, Leisure Tynedale) as advisors to the committee - their presence & input has proved to be invaluable on many occasions.
